Corona Lockdown
As the title "Corona Lockdown" says: this strange situation we are all caught in during this pandemic inspired me to create this digital art based on photos of myself. Many of you will find themselves in this awkward situation. And it's a new experience for all of us. I hope we will learn something new and important.

The idea was born out of photographing dogs, then thinking about the relationship between them and humans. From there I expanded it to meditating about peace among all beings. And not only between humans and animals but also including all nature. I hope we all can find our way to live in peace on this planet!

Dead End
When I looked at my photo with the sign "Dead End" I immediately thought about going in a certain unknown direction and suddenly finding myself lost without a way out - like in those dreams that we all know! Then I found the photo with a person lying in the snow and the double meaning of dead end came to my mind (dead - the end).
Als ich mein Foto mit dem Zeichen "Dead End" betrachtete, dachte ich sofort daran, in eine unbekannte Richtung zu gehen und mich plötzlich ohne einen Ausweg verloren zu fühlen - wie in jenen Träumen, die wir alle kennen! Dann fand ich das Foto mit einer im Schnee liegenden Person und die doppelte Bedeutung der Sackgasse kam mir in den Sinn (tot - das Ende).

This is dedicated to Charles Hardin Holley (September 7, 1936 – February 3, 1959), known as Buddy Holly, who was an American singer-songwriter and a pioneer of rock and roll. Although his success lasted only a year and a half before his death in an airplane crash, Holly is described by critic Bruce Eder as "the single most influential creative force in early rock and roll."

Homage to Enrique Grau - A Modern Version
This picture I created for the exhibition "Welcome to Enrique Grau Miami 2012". At the James L. Knight International Center, Miami, Florida, we had a 5000 square feet area for the display of various works of art from international artists who submitted a work depicting the life and work of world-renowned Colombian artist Enrique Grau.
Dieses Bild habe ich für die Ausstellung "Welcome to Enrique Grau Miami 2012" komponiert. Im James L. Knight International Centre in Miami, Florida, verfügten wir über eine Fläche von 5000 Quadratmetern für die Ausstellung verschiedener Kunstwerke von internationalen Künstlern, die ein Werk über das Leben und Wirken des weltberühmten kolumbianischen Künstlers Enrique Grau kreierten.

This is a self-portrait (triptych) showing myself smoking a small cigar. In this case I scanned my own face from different angles and worked on it in photoshop.

Taking a photo of a buoy at night and then playing with that photo I got this result and it reminded me of a watchtower and a wall on a border (very up-to-date topic). And immediately I knew the title "All Along the Watchtower".

In Search Of The Simple Pattern
This is the first digital painting I ever created. I was planning to do something very simple that would go with the colors in our living room. I started scanning different samples to combine them and I ended up with a very complex pattern that took it's own way.

Here I point out the cruelty of war and extermination demonstrated by hanging. The 'enemy' has to be eliminated! It's an ever spinning wheel of barbarity and inhumanity.

This is the first part of a triptych called "Yearning". It's the story about a long distance relationship, where the protagonist has to travel long distance each time he wants to see his partner. Part 1 is about leaving home to start the journey.

This is one of the earlier works I created. It derives from a photo I took at Munich train station. For me it has to do with saying good-bye, leaving a place to go on a new adventure with a laughing and a weeping eye.
Dies ist eines der früheren Werke, die ich kreiert habe. Es hat seinen Ursprung in einem Foto, das ich am Münchner Hauptbahnhof aufgenommen habe. This is a homage to the seventies progressive German rockband Eden and their graphic artist Albrecht Fietz, also referring to their albums 'Erwartung' and 'Pereleandra' (a concept album based on C.S.Lewis' classic science fiction Perelandra).
